  • Teaching Associate Professor

Dr. Dan Wetzel is an Appointment Stream faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh where he teaches courses about ecology, animal behavior, biostatistics, and scientific writing.

Dr. Wetzel earned a PhD at the University of Kentucky and a MS degree from Georgia Southern University, both focused on behavioral ecology – more specifically understanding individual differences in levels of parental care in birds. While he still dabbles in biological research, he is currently studying student and faculty perception of office hours in science courses in an effort to improve the faculty office hours experience.
