A team headed by Jonathan Weissman at the University of California, San Francisco that includes Jeff Brodsky and 3 other groups was recently awarded a $4.5M Howard Hughes Medical Institute Collaborative Innovation Award.  The goal of this collaborative grant is to develop and optimize new modulators of components that comprise the chaperone and quality control machineries, and then use chemical-genetic strategies to develop new cancer treatments (also see http://www.hhmi.org/news/20120906.html).
